  1. what do you mean?
Every single control on a DJM-800 is midi mappable, right down to the fader start buttons etc?

  2. you don’t need a soundcard that has midi. check out maudio midi to usb. i use that to hook up my old midi keyboard to my laptop

  3. In Ableton, may be better to get a VCM-600 or APC40, def. alot less of weight to carry around. Hopefully Pioneer picks up things and makes a mixer that has more midi controlles.

  4. when i first saw this i thought he used the cdj’s to trigger samples on ableton.. since he is using the first two channels to control ableton effects and samples (volume, EQ, etc etc…) i doubt you can use the cdj’s to trigger samples on ableton. but think about it… it be bomb it could…
it would be bomb if pioneer made the cdj’s midi capable thru the mixer. with a little part that had up down left right buttons… that on ableton would be the shit…

  5. Steve Aoki uses one of these, and if you’ve ever seen him live, you know the sound is fucking amazing!

  6. definitely very intricate, not sure how great it sounds though, but then thats not the point of a demo

  7. I like this vid! This music and live performing isn’t my style, but damn! He certainly shows what the 800 can do with MIDI! Great vid I’d say!

I wonder how hard he’s reefing on that knob at 3:29!? lol

  8. ARE-YOU-HAPPY-HAPPY… I own this puppy also and agree this dooshbag could have provided a better demo. I’m suprised Pioneer allowed this happen.

  9. I know right? It’s a freaking wonderful machine…but when it comes down to it…No one uses it like that :P
