Eddy Munsen’s New Traktor Set Up ‘Tech-speriment’. – Global Sound

Global Sound –

Using Traktor Scratch Pro on Macbook, via Focusrite Saffire soundcard, UC-33 Evolution Midi controller and into the Pioneer DJM600 mixer. A first of my new set up experimenting with FX and latency. Seems ok so far. Looking to add Korg Nano pad soon, to reduce laptop usage even more. www.house-mixes.com/Eddy_Munsen

  1. dose this setup support timecode over tractor scratch pro 2? because of the firewire and good audio quality I’m interesstet on a focusrite saffire 24 but need for gigs timecodecontroll and want blow away the busy Audio4 interface

  2. Yes if you run dedicated separate outputs of your audio interface to the DJM. Why would you want to do that tho? Surely 4 channels to DJM would be better? :)

  3. Hi there – its possible to use both a Evolution Uc-33e and a Pioneer DJM mixer in Traktor? I.e. I could run two channels on my DJM and two on a Evolution Uc-33e?

  4. SEARCH SOUNDCLOUD ‘EDDY MUNSEN’ THEN ‘HOUSE MIX JUNE 2011’ ON MY PROFILE. FOR A FREE MIX IVE JUST UPLOADED! 🙂

  5. Hi some questions please help

1 – as I do to control the pro traktor scratch with Numark Omni Control with a macbook as yours

2 – that is what I need to keep things running well

thanks for your time and please a solution 😉

  6. How is the trigger finger for stability? i had a korg nano that lasted less than a year and now i need a new pad control. Holding out for the new vestax pad one, but they taking their frickin time.

  7. Very nice, got the UC33 to and i like it very much, great combination with traktor pro and m-audio’s trigger finger

  8. Hi, yeah its been sound for me, its compact, high quality for audio, and reliable. I use it for producing with Logic and thought id try it with traktor, ideal for both. The only slightly negative is it could av been more robust like the audio 4/8, but unless ur shit get threw about its decent.

  9. How is the focusrite? I play out alot on my macbook but until now I’ve been doing ok with 2x mono outputs. never upgraded as the places I play have been stereo systems. got something coming up in september on a much nicer rig… so looking for a good audio interface.

Has to be stable… I just don’t want some shit fucking up on me.

  10. ahhh alright man, yes i agree the buttons appear to be really small, and i’d be looping and using that button with the music i play (techno, tech house, minimal). That’d be really cool if you could make a vid of the new set up..i’m curious as to how you’re working it all together.

  11. cheers dude. Indeed i could map buttons for loops, but they quite small on the uc-33. I now use a Korg Nano pad for loops, and play/pause etc.
Ill try and get a vid done to show my set up now. Its much better than just the uc-33.
I got it now so i only touch the latop to change tracks 🙂

  12. awesome tunes man, but i have one question. is there not a way to set up loops on the uc-33? because i notice you looped the track using the laptop, but is there maybe a way you could do this with the evolution controller, without setting hands on the laptop??
